The Simkits management Team and the Delft Aerospace University Team celebrates the full certification of the TRC472F
April 27, 2009 The Dutch Aerospace University has received the FNPT1 (JAA) Certification for its TRC472 trainer. The certification is similar to the FAA level 6 requirements.
The simulator is created using the range of realistic Simkits instruments. To achieve this certification, real flights have been carried out with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, equipped with measuring instruments, force recorders and video equipment. The measuring results have been incorporated in the TRC472F flight dynamics model. The flight dynamics of the TRC472F simulator are therefore extremely close to the real Cessna 172 Skyhawk. The instruments used in the certified TRC472F flight simulator are available for flight simulator companies planning to build a certifiable simulator. Just check for the Professional Flight Decks Here with “commercial license”.

TRC 1000 Glass Cockpit in full production now 17 Mar 2009

Todd Landstad (Microsoft ESP Developer Evangelist, left) and Curt Roth Sr. (CEO of TRC Development / Simkits, right) pose with the new TRC1000 (Garmin 1000 replica) at Microsofts ESP meeting in London on 19 November. TRC Development/Simkits is a development partner and Beta tester with Microsoft for Microsoft’s Professional Simulation Platform ESP. Both Todd and Curt are very enthusiast about the possibilities of the TRC1000, here shown as a portable “training-device-in-a-suite-case”, as it was brought to London by Curt Sr. as carry-on luggage on a KLM flight from Amsterdam. The total weight of the device (PFD/MFD and Audio Panel) is only 8 Kg (17.5 lbs) and needs a single USB connection and 110-245 volts. The portable system is easy to connect to a notebook running Microsoft’s ESP Flight Simulation software. For More Details Check Here
Microsoft stopped FS development As you might have heard via the media, Microsoft announced on the 22nd of January that it will cut 5000 jobs in the next year and a half. Within this plan, unfortunately the development team for Microsoft Flight Simulator is included.
What does it mean for users of Microsoft Flight Simulator? Happy enough, Microsoft released the new FSX not that long ago, so users now have the latest flight simulator product available: FSX. Also recently, Microsoft released a commercial/training version platform called ESP, which is focused on the simulation industry and has an open interface. Microsoft's commercial activities for FSX and ESP are going on as usual, so it will not affect any availability of the software. You only cannot - as far as the situation is known now - expect a new version (FS11?) in a few years.
What does TRC / Simkits do with it? They have many new products planned for flight simulation and keep developing and supporting Microsoft FSX and ESP for many years. If there are specific questions on this topic, please send them to info@melbourneflightsimulators.com.au
